Capitol Office Histories

Everything in our Capitol has a history – including the numerous office suites used by departments, boards, commissions, committees, state officers, and legislators. Because these offices are still active workplaces, we aren’t able to share them on our tours. We do, however, know a lot about their history and the way they’ve evolved over the decades. If you’re interested in the history of Michigan government, architecture, furnishings, technology, or historic preservation, these office histories will provide you with a deeper dive into some of the often-overlooked parts of our beautiful Capitol.
