This week, Capitol team members Rob Blackshaw (Executive Director), Matt White (Director of Facilities), and Brian Page (Capitol Registrar & Web Coordinator) traveled to Providence, Rhode Island, to visit Lucid Glass Studio. Lucid Glass is producing the 689 custom tiles being installed in the Capitol’s rotunda glass floor.

To document the process, the team was joined by MotionPossible. On site, the crew captured each stage of production—from the initial furnace work to the final cutting and sandblasting. They also interviewed members of the Lucid Glass team about their roles, the challenges and opportunities of the project, and how this restoration compares to other projects they’ve completed nationwide.

The Capitol extends sincere thanks to both Lucid Glass Studio and MotionPossible for their expertise, dedication, and support of this historic restoration.
