The Ionia Courthouse & Flag of the 21st
A flag of the 21st Michigan Volunteer Infantry Regiment that was displayed in the Ionia Courthouse is being returned to Michigan after 1.5 years of conservation work at Textile Preservation Associates in West Virginia. Save the Flags was honored in assisting and offering advice to the Ionia community in the conservation of this very beautiful and important presentation battle flag.
The collaborative project between Save the Flags and the VFW Muir-Lyons Post made quite a few news headlines!

Michigan Heroes Museum
Save the Flags hosted Mr. John Ryder of the Michigan’s Heroes Museum of Frankenmuth, Michigan on November 10th. Mr. Ryder was in Lansing with a uniform exhibit from three Michigan Marines, as a part of the 250th Marine Corps Birthday held in the Capitol’s Heritage Hall. We would like to thank Mr. Ryder and the staff of the Michigan’s Heroes Museum for the incredible work they do in perpetuating the memory of our brave Michigan service members.
National Guard Association of Michigan
Save the Flags was very honored to attend the 68th Annual Conference of the National Guard Association of Michigan (NGAM) in Detroit on November 7, 2025. The conference was held at the Fort Pontchartrain Hotel. We would like to thank MIARNG Command Historian Adam Betz for the invitation.

Honoring Our Veterans
Maurice Imhoff and the 102nd U.S.C.T., Company C of the Gospel Army were featured participants in the New York City Veteran’s Day Parade this year. They are proudly marching beneath the replica colors of the regiment. The replica and the original were beautifully hand painted and included the moto “All men are born Free and Equal, to realize which, we fight”
