
On June 3, Save the Flags hosted a group of ten State Representatives in the flag storage unit at the state museum. We also hosted a visit to flags with the Independent Insurance Agents of Michigan on June 11th.

Save the Flags was the featured speaker at the annual Oakland County Picnic of the local chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution on flag day, June 14.

On June 17 STF honored the Fellowship Lodge #236 of the Free and Accepted Masons for their very kind support and adoption of a flag carried by the 8th Michigan Infantry.

On June 21st Director VanAcker attended the opening ceremonies of the Education Center at the River Raisin National Battlefield in Monroe, Michigan.

Conservation and stabilization continues in the Heritage Hall conservation lab on the regimental flag of the 15th Michigan Infantry Regiment. Visit Heritage Hall in July or August to see the flag on display in the conservation lab viewing window!
A teaser for the Save the Flags Documentary film The Battle Flags of Michigan has been released! From Bull Run to Appomattox, this three-minute sneak peek is set to powerful music and highlights our progress filming replicas of Michigan battle flags at thirteen National Parks, two National Cemeteries, and one State Historic Site. The finished documentary will include commentary from subject matter experts, dramatic readings from memoirs written by Michiganders who fought and died for our freedom, and many more scenes of Civil War battlefields where Michigan men fought and died beneath the colors. The Battle Flags of Michigan is scheduled to premiere on December 6, 2025. Click the photo above to watch the teaser!
