Flag Conservation Update
Our art department is occupying the exhibit space in Heritage Hall with a wonderful exhibit focusing on the relationship between Capitol artists Lewis and Percy Ives. Meanwhile our conservation specialists, May Oyler and Cambray Baylis, continue to conduct very important conservation work on the regimental battle flag of the 15th Michigan Infantry in the “back area” of the conservation lab. All of the 1960’s netting has been carefully removed from the flag and they are in the process of encapsulation.
